Song without Words at E.A.A.T
Photo documentation of the exhibition at the Beall Center, on view from September 30, 2023 to January 13, 2024, captures Song Without Words as an immersive multi-channel installation. Inspired in part by Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, the video work unfolds across three movements that explore gesture, sound, and sign language. The video is projected on translucent hanging panels to create a fragmented sensory environment that reflects the complex visual and auditory experience of Deaf and hard of hearing communities.
